How To Prepare Italian Ravioli

How To Prepare Italian Ravioli

Personally, I simply love this kind of recipe. Truly Italian – this was passed down to only me courtesy of my mother in law. Definitely an authentic Italian – Mamma! This is absolutely traditional since they’re simply some things better done using the old ways.

Ingredients that are needed:

1/4 lb of flour
2 pcs of eggs
Forcemeat
Salt
Butter
Stock or gravy
Parmesan

Directions:

Create a certain paste using one fourth pound flour, a bit of salt & 2 ounces butter. Then knead the mixture into one firm kind of smooth type of paste then wrap them using one damp cloth in approximately thirty minutes, while rolling them as thinly as doable, moisten them using a pastry brush dipped with some water.

Once done cut each to round shapes that are about 3 inches circle. In every piece place teaspoonfuls of forcemeat that has chicken and maybe also some game then top with some grated Parmesan together with one to two egg yolks.

Fold paste on top of your forcemeat while carefully pinching the rest of their edges really tight combining them together really well, to make those shapes and achieving those certain little puffs. Allow them to dry completely.

Blanch them by using the boiling method; boil them inside a stock in approximately twenty minutes then draining them with the use of paper towels.

Then butter or grease any dish that is fireproof, while layering your ravioli, then powder the rest with some Parmesan cheese grated on top, then place another ravioli layer plus more cheesy Parmesan that is grated . Just add sufficient amount of gravy in order for the top to be covered, place this dish inside your oven at about 350 deg. F in approximately 25 minutes then serve dish.

Ravioli is a very simple Italian dish that is really quite easy to make but requires some skill too. Just be patient in making this dish and don’t forget to be quite generous with your ingredients as Italians do cook from the heart.

Don’t worry too much about measurements but rather when you’re putting in your filling, do go ahead and be generous with it but don’t over fill as well because your ravioli might burst during cooking time.

Homemade ravioli is really great. You can make this together with your kids and they’d love that time with you in the kitchen. You spend time with the kids as well as imparting some culinary expertise to them too which is great. If your kids love cooking, all the more that you should be welcoming them into your kitchen.

Have fun!
