Cookie Mix Sugar Recipe

Cookie Mix Sugar Recipe

Ingredients:

A drop or two of food coloring (any color)
1/4 c of sugar
1 Tbsp of salt
1 Tbsps of baking powder
6 c of flour (all purpose)
1/2 c of shortening
1 c of butter (room temperature)
2/3 c of sugar
1 tsp of vanilla
2 Tbsps of milk
1 whole egg

Instructions:

Cream together shortening and butter. In another bowl, mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut the shortening to your flour mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Store inside airtight Tupperware and place in the fridge.

When ready to use, mix together two cups of the cookie mix and add two thirds cup of sugar, one teaspoon vanilla and two tablespoons milk plus one whole egg.

Knead dough on a slightly floured table then press to about one eighth of an inch thick. Cut into small cookies then bake for eight minutes (400 degrees F) until nicely golden in color. Dust with sugar. Yields three dozen sweet cookies.

For the sugar, you can add about two drops artificial food coloring to a sugar placed inside shakers. Cover well then shake vigorously until combined. Makes a nice sprinkles on top of cookies.
